So after rewatching The Name of the Doctor and The God Complex, I think I’ve drawn some nice connections.

In The God Complex, the Doctor’s door is door #11.

Not that that’s really groundbreaking; I just thought it might be a nice parallel to Clara’s constant references to the number 11…

There are so many many theories about the whole John Hurt being the doctor thing. I personally think that he is a past incarnation and NOT a future one because, let’s face it, The Doctor does not know what his future holds. He can’t. It’s wibbly wobbly timey wimey. Now given that, it is pretty logical that he is the real 9th version of the doctor. So, maybe not the Valeyard yet? I am dying to find out more about his part in the Last Great Time War because I’m a new whovian. (Began with the Eccleston version)

Also, the Sun has reported that he is in fact the 9th and Matt Smith is potentially the LAST incarnation of The Doctor (OH NO!!!!).

[I only recently found out that The Doctor has only 12 regenerations. Once I came to grips with myself after that - I thought he was forever- I got quite mad at Eccleston for wasting a precious regeneration by backing out after one season. The producers could have just had Tennant play the ninth and then bring in Matt as the 10th. I’m quite mad that The Doctor’s lost one of his lives now.]

So, now we have 7 months to wait till we find out more. Is it possible that the 50th Anniversary episode will take place inside the Doctor’s timeline while he tries to get Clara out and then runs into Tennant there? or Maybe not :s because there are pictures of them on outdoor shoots. While speculation is fun, i’d suggest staying away from looking at new pictures from 50th (i know I know. It is tough) because it’s the best way for us to be on the edge of our seats and to allow Steven Moffat to whisk us away to Trenzalore once again. It is the only way we can fully give ourselves into the experience.

I recently started watching BBC’s series, Doctor Who. I started it this March I think. And by the end of the month, I had watched all episodes till the end of series 7 part 1 and had turned into a completely obsessed fan-girl. The show is basically of the sci-fi genre, but, it highlights friendships, love and most of all, the essence of being human. You will see sacrifices, joy, love, adventure and a heart-wrenching happiness/sadness when the Doctor’s companions have to leave. It is the tale of the last of the Time-Lords, an ancient race of aliens from the planet Galifrey. He travels through time and space with his companions, saving different worlds, healing the wounded and basically, scaring the shit out of the bad guys. He finds love along the way too. Although, his love stories are always quite tragic.

Doctor Who is 50 years old this year. The series I mean. Not the Time-Lord (he is 1100+ now). And in the 50 years, there have been 11 regenerations. He is in his 11th form now. Matt Smith who plays the 11th Doctor, is the youngest Doctor Who. He brought to the show a little wildness and some innocence to the show. While he is a really good Doctor, the one who takes the cake is the Tenth Doctor, David Tennant. Tennant himself is a huge fan of Doctor Who. His version of the Doctor was intense, fun, reckless and all out amazing. He is MY Doctor anyway. (Sorry Matt. I do love you though. Not to worry)

Well, the reason I’m writing this post is because I want to get many people to experience the awesomeness that is Doctor Who. I am now seeing references to Doctor Who every where. Sometimes, I can even hear the TARDIS, although that might just be my message tone. But, yea, the series has such wonderful things to teach us. It mostly helps us to open our minds to all the billion gazillion possibilities that the universe holds, that just because we haven’t seen it, doesn’t mean it’s not out there. The universe is huge, the possibilities are endless. The chance to give hope, even to Vincent Van Gogh, exists. The chance to make a difference, to re-write time, (maybe kill Hitler?) it is always there. (unless it is a fixed point in time)

Series 7 is almost at an end, but the 50th anniversary episode is generating a lot of hype and excitement among the Whovians. Don’t be daunted by the umm.. bad graphics in the first few series. Just keep watching it and you will never want to stop.

I’m still waiting for the madman with the box to take me on adventures all across time and space. Now go and watch the series and don’t miss out on one of the best things that television has to offer.

P.s.- This is why I think British Television is amazing. Dear American TV Shows, there is more to life than boobs and beer.

I got my hands on Apple’s new Ear pods. Of course I tried them out immediately. Well, anyone can make fun of Apple and say they just made ear phones look different and there’s nothing great about. If you think so, you are quite wrong. A lot of us have the problem of ear phones falling off right in the middle of our favourite songs, exactly when you’re in the zone and grooving to the music. With Ive’s design, the ear pods stay securely in place. You wanna dance ? Go ahead. Workout? sure thing. Run? Why not? Chennai auto? Not a problem. The ear pods sit safe and sound. The best part is, they don’t strain your ear lobe as usual ear phones do, after prolonged use.

Sound Quality has grown leaps and bounds (from its predecessor). Priced at $29 in the US, these are arguably one of the best earphones you can get for that price. A person looking for noise cancelling ear phones would probably be better off with the pricier Klipsch ones. But for a not so noisy environment, these babies are pretty good. Try the older Apple ear phones and the new ones. You can actually hear music that you might’ve missed before. The bass is good. Its not distorted even when loud! It is good to know that Apple is actually looking into making better earphones. They are certainly worth it for general usage. If you’re a person who is used to throwing out the earphones that come with the iDevices, you can stop doing that now. You can keep these, if not for primary usage, at least secondary. If you’re someone who doesn’t really want to shell out oodles of money for a pair of earphones, then get these!

They come in a small travel box so that you can safely store it while on the move and prevent it from tangling.

Try the Ear pods. After a while, you will just forget that they are actually sitting in your ears!
